It’s almost certainly the case that the best part about Facebook is the way that people there read and engage with things I’ve posted here. Now sometimes this means that people will say interesting things and sometimes it means that people will repeat nonsensical rhetoric that someone told them at a gun show.
The first guy is just wrong; as I try to politely point out, you simply cannot purchase whatever sort of weapon you want (because lots of weapons are currently banned) and we generally don’t have major problems with the government infringing on our rights in the interest of public safety (these guys, for example, aren’t shouting “Fire!” in a crowded theatre to test the 1st Amendment protection and they weren’t out there protesting warrantless wiretapping; they’re just gun nuts who think the 2nd Amendment is sacrosanct and don’t much care about anything else).
The second guy, however, is an obvious maniac. I’m guessing we should probably tip off local law enforcement about his unlicensed weapons cache.
