“Professorial”

Have you noticed that whenever people want to say that President Obama is boring, fails to inspire, or is somehow just not engaging as a speaker, they refer to him as “professorial”?

Seriously, what’s up with that?!

  6. jakke said: Professors do tend to talk like they’re used to having a captive audience more than, say, engineers or lawyers. Not sure that describes how Obama talks, but there is a style that comes from having people pay to sit quietly while listening to you.
