The Top 10 Posts of 2011

Today and tomorrow, by way of reflection on a pretty successful year of blogging, I’ll be linking to the Top 10 Running Chicken posts of the year. These are the posts that drew the most unique eyeballs; the list doesn’t include the About page, which draw several thousand unique hits every year, or the main page, which is always the top draw since it’s the way that people access the site directly (rather than via some referring site).

Perhaps you missed some of these posts. Or maybe you just want to have another look since it’s been a little while. Feel free, of course, to share them with friends and loved ones because each click tells me that you’d like for me to keep writing these sorts of things.

Here, then, are the 6th-10th most viewed posts of 2011:

#10. I complain about the Tumblr Politics tag and the editors who were picked to curate it (5/13/11)

#9. Why I liked baseball so much as a kid and why I don’t like it now (4/1/10)

#8. Fox News couldn’t find Egypt on a map back in 2009 (1/29/11)

#7. “The Justice of Killing and the Culture of Vengeance,” a reflection on the death of Osama bin Laden and the jubiliation that followed (5/2/11)

#6. My thougts on the GOP debate in which Rick Perry’s execution record was cheered by the audience (9/8/11)

See you here tomorrow morning for the Top 5!
