I’m not anticipating a response from whoever is running Obama’s Twitter account. I’m also guessing that the people behind his Tumblr presence don’t want to have this discussion with me. Sadly, in the United States, pardons seems to be reserved for special turkeys.

But after pardoning the randomly-selected turkey today, couldn’t Obama have gone on to commute the death sentences of those few people who populate the federal death row in Terre Haute, Indiana to life imprisonment? Which turkey lives and which turkey dies is just as random as which person is executed and which person gets life imprisonment.
