It’s worth listening to this for a few minutes.
The remark from Sanchez — quoted below — that gets as close as one could possibly get to simply saying, “The Jews control the media” comes around the 11:00 mark.
Don’t worry, though: he immediately follows up by letting us know that his best friends were Jewish, since he grew up in Miami.
At no point, of course, does Sanchez actually provide a single example to back up any of the claims that he makes about Stewart’s bigotry.
CNN anchor Rick Sanchez, criticizing Daily Show host Jon Stewart for being elitist and a “bigot.” “He’s upset that someone of my ilk is almost at his level,” Sanchez told Peter Dominick in a radio interview on Thursday. He added: “I’m telling you that everybody who runs CNN is a lot like Stewart, and a lot of people who run all the other networks are a lot like Stewart, and to imply that somehow they, the people in this country who are Jewish, are an oppressed minority? Yeah.”
UPDATE:
CNN released this statement today:
“Rick Sanchez is no longer with the company. We thank Rick for his years of service and we wish him well.“
